Good Food values
taste, authenticity, sustainability, responsibilityA new chapter in the Good Food story has begun. To expand the opportunities available to Good Food members and pursue their shared values, the former Good Food Foundation has been integrated into the non-profit Specialty Food Association (SFA), a membership-based trade organization for the specialty food industry.
Core Good Food programs, services, and events will continue under the SFA umbrella, including the Good Food Awards and Good Food Mercantile events, based on Good Food’s established standards. As new members of SFA, former Good Food Guild and Merchant members now enjoy an expanded suite of benefits, networking opportunities, and tradeshow access.

History
The Good Food brand story began in 2008, when founders Sarah Weiner and Dominic Phillips produced North America’s largest ever sustainable food event, Slow Food Nation, bringing together 85,000 people to celebrate good, clean, and fair food.
Inspired to continue the conversation, community, and collaborations it seeded, Weiner and Phillips in 2010 established a not-for-profit organization, which officially became the Good Food Foundation in 2016. Core programs launched under this not-for-profit include the Good Food Awards (2010) and Good Food Mercantile events (2015).
As of 2026, the former Good Food Foundation integrated with the Specialty Food Association (SFA), with the shared mission to continue honoring, celebrating and empowering values-driven and often underserved players in the food system.
