Tickets for the 9th Annual Good Food Awards Weekend On-Sale Now | January 11-13, 2019

San Francisco, CA (January 4, 2019) – On Friday, January 11, the food movement’s leaders will gather in celebration of the 224 winners of the 2019 Good Food Awards. Dr. Jessica Harris, world authority on cooking of the African diaspora, will deliver the keynote speech to a crowd of 900 at the historic Herbst Theater at the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center. She will be joined by Honorary Hosts Alice Waters and Carlo Petrini in recognizing the cheesemakers, preservers, brewers, roasters and distillers that work tirelessly to create a better American food culture for all.

In celebration of America’s finest makers, 19 of the country’s leading independent merchants will also be on hand, banded together as the Good Food Merchants Collaborative to lend their support to the Good Food Awards. Mobilized by San Francisco’s own Sam Mogannam of Bi-Rite Family of Businesses, the geographically diverse Good Food Merchants Collaborative counts among its members the historic Di Bruno Brothers of Philadelphia, opened in 1939 by two immigrant brothers, World Foods Portland, run by a team of second-generation siblings of Lebanese descent and the legendary Zingerman’s Family of Businesses of Ann Arbor, Michigan. These 19 merchants will be joined by a dozen more, from Goods Mart in L.A. to Swamp Rabbit Café and Grocery in South Carolina, the newest members of a Good Food Merchants Alliance built in 2018 to support each other and a thriving good food system.

A limited number of tickets are available to join the exceptional food crafters and their families at the Oscar-style Good Food Awards Ceremony and enjoy the After Party co-hosted by Bi-Rite Family of Businesses at the stunning Airbnb headquarters, with Bon Appetit Management Company helping to create five regional buffets of the hundreds of winning cheeses, charcuterie, pickles and preserves. Pours of the winning beer, cider and spirits will add to the jubilation. Tickets ($235) include both the Ceremony and After Party.

Winners will be debuted to the wider public on Sunday, January 13 at the Good Food Awards Marketplace held in conjunction with the Fort Mason Center Farmers’ Market from 9 AM – 2 PM ($5 General Admission or $20 for VIP Early Access). This vibrant gathering is a once-a-year opportunity to meet the Winners and to sample or purchase their winning products – 40% of whom have never won a Good Food Award before.

For merchants and media interested in stocking or promoting Good Food Awards honorees, the Good Food Mercantile, an “un-trade show” for tasty, authentic and responsible food, will showcase 160 of exceptional makers (many of them this year’s winners, and all of them meeting the same sustainability standards) in a one-day, intimate-in-scale event on Saturday, January 12 ($35).
