A New Home for the Good Food Awards
After twelve incredible years in San Francisco, the Good Food Awards Weekend has a new home in Portland, Oregon!
This vibrant weekend, including the Good Food Awards Ceremony (April 21) and Portland Mercantile (April 22), will bring hundreds of food crafters, merchants and media together to celebrate the best of the best in tasty, authentic and responsible food and drink.
As always, the Good Food Mercantile NYC will take place in June, aligned with the Summer Fancy Food Show. The wildly popular San Francisco Mercantile will be held in September together with the Good Food Awards Blind Tasting, enabling top retailers and food media from across the country to participate in both.

This past April, the first annual Portland Good Food Mercantile introduced us to the rich and passionate food community of the Pacific Northwest. While we were already familiar with some of the fantastic food crafters of the region–Oregon and Washington boasted the second and fourth most Winners in 2022, respectively–we were moved by the warm welcome the Good Food Mercantile received. From local incubator and accelerator programs, to the 12 hosts and state commissions, all the way up to our wonderful partners at the Oregon Department of Agriculture, we really felt the love from the Pacific Northwest.
After more than a decade honoring Good Food in San Francisco, we’re excited by the opportunity to bring the Awards celebration to a new region. With the support of so many dedicated and passionate partners, this change will enable us to create new programming, new collaborations, and ultimately, more value for the crafters and retailers in our community.
We’re looking forward to seeing what this new chapter brings. Tickets to the Awards Ceremony and Mercantile will be available in the new year at goodfoodfdn.org.

In June, we’ll return to NYC for our largest Mercantile of the year. This event happens in conjunction with the Summer Fancy Food Show, so that both attendees and crafters can get the best of everything the food world has to offer. The draw of these two exciting events guarantees that plenty of top retailers and food media will be in attendance, so come ready to make new connections!
In September, we’ll be pairing the beloved San Francisco Mercantile with the one-of-a-kind Good Food Awards Blind Tasting. This will expand our judging pool significantly as retailers, customers, chefs, and giants of the food industry converge in the beautiful city by the bay to evaluate products and connect with crafters in one action-packed weekend. In addition, we’re excited to announce the return of our International Showcase; this means that the 2023 SF Mercantile will feature not only the best products in the US, but also some of the most delicious and responsible products from around the world.
