Historically, the Good Food Foundation organizes the Good Food Awards Blind Tasting each September. In this one-day event, over 250 judges come together for a sensory evaluation of nearly 2,000 entries.
Due to evolving public health recommendations and limitations on gatherings in San Francisco, the Good Food Foundation is planning to adjust the format of the Blind Tasting in order to ensure the safety of our community. Our working plan is for socially distanced tastings where samples will be divided up into boxes for each judge with curbside pickup.
Due to this new format and our concern for optimal food safety, we’re asking entrants to change the format and quantity of their sample sizes this year (see below). All samples will need to be individually packaged for judges. The Good Food team will not be breaking down entries as in years past to divide among the judges. The one exception is Spirits.
The Good Food Foundation will keep all entrants and judges informed of any such changes. We remain fully committed to organizing a highest quality, safe and successful Blind Tasting this fall.
If you have any questions or concerns about these new protocols, please email email@example.com.
