Cheese companies earn Good Food Awards

Point Reyes Cowgirl Creamery and Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co. are the Marin winners of this year’s Good Food Awards, which has been introducing people to the best food, spirits and brews from the finest specialty crafters in the country every January since 2011. Winners are chosen not only for craftsmanship and flavor, but also for socially and environmentally responsible practices.

To further support these winning food crafters, the Good Food Merchants Collaborative is launching a Good Food Originals, a project that encourages experimentation and innovation. The first will be Cowgirl Creamery’s Hop Along, a cider-washed, semi-hard cheese made with Straus Family Creamery milk. The first batches will be sold exclusively by members of the collaborative. Find yours at the independently owned Cowgirl Creamery and Palace Market in Point Reyes Station, as well as Good Earth Natural Foods in Fairfax and Mill Valley.
