Meet the 2020 Good Food Awards Oil Finalists & Winners

These 15 producers from across the U.S. represent the best in delicious, sustainable nut, seed, flavored and extra virgin olive oils

San Francisco, CA (July 14, 2020) – The Good Food Foundation is proud to announce the 15 extraordinary oil producers that rose to the top as finalists and winners of the 2020 Good Food Awards Oils category. For the first time this year, the Oils Blind Tasting was separated from the other categories, Winners of which were announced in January, allowing olive oils to be tasted earlier in the year, when they showcase much better than in the fall. With a demonstrated commitment to environmental stewardship and growing their businesses in harmony with a better food system, these outstanding crafters represent the nation’s best in delicious, sustainable fare.

Among the Winners and Finalists are Séka Hills Estate Grown Picual Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, grown and milled in the Capay Valley, Corky’s Nuts’ Walnut Oil, made from organic certified walnuts grown on the owner’s family farm, and first-time Good Food Award Winner Congaree and Penn’s Pecan Oil from Florida.

For those excited to throw their hat in the ring for next year’s Good Food Awards, Entry Period is now open. Food crafters in 17 categories are invited to enter by filling out a short online form at goodfoodfdn.org/awards by July 31 ($78 entry fee). Samples for all categories except Oils will be requested in September, and 2021 Oils entrants will ship samples of their new harvest oil in the spring. Concurrently, the Virtual Mercantile, a socially distanced ‘un-trade show for tasty, authentic and responsible food,’ has been extended through the end of August due to popular demand. Upcoming tasting themes including The Brunch Pantry, Confections & Coffee, and the Cheese & Charcuterie Board.
