Equity Action Plan
We wanted to take this time to share more publicly the steps that we’re taking at the Good Food Foundation: we know that words are meaningful only when followed by action.
We have begun an audit of Good Food Award Winners to catch and address instances of cultural appropriation; and are developing a multi-year action plan in conjunction with a paid, BIPOC-led Equity Task Force to improve representation and equity in all levels of our work. We will be announcing members of the Equity Task Force in early July.
We are also offering one free entry for the 2021 Good Food Awards to all BIPOC owned businesses. If you’re interested in entering, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’re at the beginning of a long path, and know that there’s much work to do. We also know that a more equitable and just food system is possible, and we look forward to being part of the solution. To keep up to date, sign up for the bi-monthly Good Food Awards newsletter at the bottom of the homepage and follow us on Instagram @goodfoodfdn.
