The Awards are open to U.S. based companies (including U.S. territories) making products that fall within our 18 categories and comply with all category specific standards. In 2025, we’ll celebrate 15 Years of Good Food Awards, a special edition of our awards open to all past Good Food Award-winning products.
We wish we could accept amazing entries from any and all food categories, but due to logistical restraints we cannot accommodate every product, aligned as they might be with our goals of tasty, authentic and responsible food. All product must be ready for retail. To check your eligibility, you can view the “subcategories” section of the standards page for each category.
We are currently reviewing our entry criteria to ensure alignment with industry standards, refining our processes, implementing improved systems, and ensuring transparency in all we do. If you have input on our categories or standards, please feel free to email connect@goodfoodfdn.org.
2025 submissions for the 15 Years of Good Food Awards carry a fee of $45 per product. This fee helps cover costs for processing, vetting, operating the voting platform, and issuing awards.
Not eligible to enter this year, but want to support good food?
Once all submissions are received, they’ll be added to a special 15 Years of Good Food Awards voting site. Active members of the Good Food Guild (crafters) and Good Food Alliance (merchants) will receive an email with instructions on how to vote.
Eligible voters will select from among all submissions to vote for their favorite product in each category.
Entry Period October 30-December 20, 2024
Community Choice Voting ends May 15, 2025
Winners Announced on or before June 28, 2025
Good Food Mercantile New York June 28, 2025
Good Food Mercantile San Francisco TBD, Fall 2025
Unfortunately, only products still in production with an active SKU are eligible to enter. We want to make sure that all of the 2025 winners are available for purchase by retailers and consumers.
All entries in all categories will be included in the Community Choice voting process – as long as a category has entries, it will have a winner.
While we are excited to honor past winning products, we also want to showcase the good people behind the good food. Expect some surprises and keep an eye out for special recognition of some of those who have made the good food movement what it is today.
The entry form should take less than 5 minutes, depending on how many past GFA-winning products you choose to submit.
All 2025 Award Winners will receive:
-exclusive use of the 15th Anniversary Good Food Awards Winner seal on their winning product packaging
-increased sales and publicity tied to the Awards and as part of our 15th Anniversary marketing & media campaign
-listing on the Good Food Awards website
-opportunity to exhibit at our NYC Mercantile, June 28, 2025 where we’ll highlight winners (space permitting)
-a chance to be selected as a Crafter of Note from your region (stay tuned for details!)
First, we want to fully recognize the rich history of the Good Food Awards, and the tasty products that have earned top honors over the past 14 years. It’s a momentous occasion that would not exist without these amazing products.
Secondly, we know that behind ever good product there are good people. Our 15th anniversary is a time to celebrate what matters most – you! We share your belief that making good food is as important as doing good by people and planet.
And finally, the Good Food Awards have grown organically over the past 15 years, and we want to take this pivotal year to get ready for the next 15 years. That means we’ll be:
- reviewing our categories and criteria
- aligning with industry standards
- refining our processes
- implementing new systems, and
- building transparency and consistency into all we do.
All current Guild and Mercantile members will receive an e-mail from us in the spring of 2025 with a link to our 15 Years of Good Food Awards voting platform. They’ll follow the instructions to vote for their favorite product in each of our 18 categories from among the past winning products submitted by crafters and meeting all submission criteria.
Yes! And, no!
The good food movement is about more than just food – it’s about people. A beloved jam is beloved not only for the richness of its fruit flavor, or the care that went into making it, but often for the company and the people behind it.
Community Choice voting allows your fellow crafters and the supportive community of good food merchants to select their favorite products based on their familiarity with the product, the story behind it, and the people who make it.
If you are a current Guild member, you’ll be eligible to vote for your own product(s) and those of your fellow crafters. You’ll receive a link to vote via email when voting opens.
All entry fees are non-refundable.
